October 2014 - 30 Day Photo Challenge - DAY 17:DETAILS
De-tails on the ends of the kites were colorful and fluttered gracefully in the wind over Clear Lake.
Every February, a kite festival is held at the seawall in Clear Lake, Iowa. I have attended several years to photograph the event. Some years are sunny and bright, but last year, it was cloudy and snowing. It still made for some spectacular pictures.

October 2014 - 30 Day Photo Challenge - DAY 4:WATER
I completely envy those people who have an RV and can camp by a lake or river...especially on sunny fall days like we had today.
These images were captured on my iPhone at the Otranto Park in Mitchell County Iowa.
Another one of my favorite bodies of water is Clear Lake. The sunsets are spectacular and a constant source of incredible beauty.
Big Round Lake in Hayward, Wisconsin holds some amazing memories for me...relaxing with family and enjoying some excellent cuisine by this fantastic body of water.

Art Sail On
On Saturday, the hubby and I went to the Art Sail in Clear Lake. Seventy plus juried artists were showcasing and selling their arts and crafts in the city park including our long-time friends Art and Paula Ciccotti who were there with Art's fine glassware.
I do enjoy walking around looking at all the handiwork of the creative and talented folks from all over the region. I'm always inspired and feel the desire to go home and work on my own craft projects after I've been to an art festival...(alas, the desire quickly fades before I get back home).
With a name like "Art Sail," my mind immediately envisions a craft fair in conjunction with sailboat races. Unfortunately, that is not the case. However, it is a great segue into showcasing some of my favorite sailboat pictures from days gone by...
