MAKING THE GIFTS!

That's right!  The craft project that began with an idea I saw on Pinterest the end of last May (nearly seven months ago) is finally nearing completion.

The hooked rug star ornaments are definitely a labor of love with multiple steps and finishing touches that seem endless!

As with most craft projects, the meat of the work is my favorite part with the finishing being the most tedious and tiresome.

However, the results are well worth the effort!  I think they all turned out quite nice.  I even added a button which was not in the original pictures.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 18:SOMETHING YOU MADE

My first project - the infinity symbol on a pillow.

Rug hooking is my latest discovery!  It's relaxing and quite fulfilling.  I have made three projects since learning the art in late October.  It is a craft that the Carolina relatives on my grandma's side did nearly 100 years ago.

My second project - a chair pad.

My third project - various stages and a detailed close up of a rug.

I just selected some hand-dyed wool for my next project--star ornaments.  I will definitely post some pictures when I get going on those.
